It isn’t a shock that December can be one of the most stressful months of the year. You have shopping, decorating, wrapping, baking and errands galore! You might feel like there isn’t any time to relax. This year, gift yourself a day of luxury with at home spa treatments you can make yourself or buy inexpensively.
Letting yourself relax and spend a day unwinding from all the stress and obligations is extremely beneficial and healing to your body and mind at this time of year. If you don’t take the time to take care of yourself, your body will fail you. Just when you need all the energy you can muster to celebrate the holidays – you will feel cranky, tired and achy! If you allow yourself to relax every once in a while and re-energize, I promise the holidays will be more fun and exciting and less stressful and painful!
First, think about all the ways you can pamper yourself. Be sure to give your nails, hair, face, feet and body some well-deserved attention.
For your body: Use some bath salts (these are relatively inexpensive) or make yourself a bubble bath to soak in. Be sure to scrub ALL OVER using a DIY scrub. This will get rid of dead skin cells and make your body smooth and supple.
For your face: Make a DIY face mask or moisturizer! Check out this list:
For your feet: You should have already scrubbed those tootsies well, but how about doing a mask on your feet as well? The guide in the nails section has a great DIY recipe for a foot mask.
For your hair: Try a DIY conditioning hair treatment to get rid of dry scalp and make your tresses long and beautiful for the holiday season. Try this recipe with items you probably already have on hand.
For your nails: Give yourself the ultimate mani/pedi. Check out this guide for “wedding ready hands and feet” – if its good enough for a wedding, it is great for anti-stress holidays!
