Good Morning Inspiration

“Waking up this morning, I smile. Twenty-four brand new hours are before me. I vow to live fully in each moment and to look at all beings with eyes of compassion.”

Make this your vow for today. Just for today. Sometimes when we’re caught in cycles of negative thinking, we can begin a shift with good intentions and, when we fall back into our patterns, get discouraged and continue with the negative self-talk that we were setting out to disband originally. So instead of setting yourself a goal like “I’m going to be positive for the rest of my life!” which will make you beat yourself up when you slip, set yourself incremental, achievable goals that meet you where you are. I will smile and be filled with light…for one minute. Then for 10 minutes, then an hour, then a day. Renew your vow each morning in sadhana. “Today I smile”. If you don’t make it, remind yourself how lucky you are that another day will dawn giving you the opportunity to get it right, that with the next breath, you can choose to love yourself again.

Give yourself permission to shine, to glow, to step into your full radiance. There is nothing to fear from fully expressing your authentic self. There is nowhere to hide, once you unfurl your divinity like a morning flower. From this place of your own magnificence, you’ll inspire others to find theirs. As Nelson Mandela said, “…as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.”

With our 12,000 hearts on fire, it’s begun. Your heart, your one magnificent heart, is the most important of all. After all, we are One.

“Keep up and you will be kept up.” ~Yogi Bhajan
