Downtown Movies in the Moonlight

Movies in the Moonight is a family-friendly film festival held over six Saturdays from June 30-Aug. 4 in the Farmer’s Market parking lot in downtown Rochester.

Admission is free; guests should bring their own seating. Movies begin at dusk; pre-show entertainment begins at 8:30 p.m.

Hot dogs, popcorn and soft drinks are available for purchase. Guests are welcome to bring their own food, though no alchohol is allowed.

Mark your calendar to attend live concerts this summer at Stony Creek Metropark near Rochester/Washington Township this summer. Treat your ears and eyes to music surrounded by the beautiful backdrop of Stony Creek Lake. All concerts take place at Eastwood Beach at 7:30 pm.

Intrigue plays top 40 and a variety of music on Friday, June 22.

80’s Inc, a retro rock tribute band, performs Friday, July 6.

Air Margaritaville performs Jimmy Buffet tunes on Friday, July 20.

Justine Blazer plays country music on Friday, August 3.

Dr. Pocket plays a variety of blues, jazz, rhythm and fun rock on Friday, August 10.

Concertgoers should arrive early for the best seating and bring a chair or blanket. Picnic baskets are allowed, but no glass containers. Food will also be available at the park’s concession area. The concerts are “free,” except for the required vehicle entry permit: Annual – $25 regular/$15 senior citizens (62 or older), or Daily – $5. Rain or shine, make it a fun day at Royal Oak’s 42nd Annual Outdoor Art Fair.

The 42nd Annual Outdoor Art Fair will be held in the beautiful setting of Memorial Park, at the corner of Woodward Avenue and 13 Mile. Fair hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Over 100 juried artists will be selling original art work for your home, office, or as a gift including:

ceramics

painting/prints

fiber arts

jewelry

photography

sculpture

glass

leather

mixed media

A variety of food items will also be available.

The Art Fair is sponsored by the Royal Oak Department of Recreation & Public Service and the Royal Oak Arts Council.

Thousands of art lovers enjoyed more than 100 unique vendors showcasing a variety of art offered by juried artists at the Royal Oak Outdoor Art Fair on Saturday in Memorial Park. The fair continues through 5 p.m. today.
