For thousands of years, humans lived in shamanic societies. A medicine man or woman would steer and guide you through times of difficulties and challenges. It is said that in many of these cultures, when someone would come to the medicine man saying they were depressed or broken hearted, the medicine man would ask them one of the following questions:
When did you stop singing?
When did you stop dancing?
When did you stop being enchanted by stories?
When did you stop finding comfort in silence?
If you are struggling today, ask yourself these questions. Bring back the dance! Bring back your song! Bring back the joy of epic tales and the peace of meditation.
Yogi Bhajan prayed, “Where I exist and pass, let there be nothing but the enlightened dance of Your Grace.”
Let this be your prayer: May every step hold the dance for you. May every word feel like a song. May the story of your life excite you, and may you find comfort in the embrace of stillness. Wherever you exist and pass, may there be Grace.
“Keep up and you will be kept up.” ~Yogi Bhajan
