Perhaps it is my love of the movie Anchorman, but the exercise I always go back to is jogging. In 7th grade, I decided that perhaps I should do some sort of sport or extra-curricular activity at school and I decided on Track. While honestly, I mostly joined because my friends were and we goofed off most of the time, ever since then I always go back to it. The problem is the fact I have to “go back to it” aka I always end up quitting. I will get really motivated for a week or two and jog on the treadmill or run around my neighbor but then find enough excuses and lose all willpower to keep moving.
Yet in 2012, one of my goals was to stick to my workouts. The best thing about exercise is that if you stick with it long enough and do it often enough, you almost get addicted to it. You love the feeling it gives you and you don’t want to miss your daily workout when you find something you love. I’ve found that the workout I love doing the most at home is running.
Even though my parent’s treadmill is likely from the 1970′s and the weather isn’t really prime for outside running just quite yet, I am getting better at sticking to my goal. I love grabbing my iPod and blasting some heart-pumping tunes while I run. Years ago I remember only running for two minutes and getting exhausted and now I can run for around a mile before stopping. I like working towards the goal of running faster and longer.
