2 – 4 pm at Karma Yoga
Come help us tie together FLEECE BLANKETS for PBJ (Peanut Butter and Jelly) Outreach Inc. A diverse group of people volunteering their time and services to provide food, clothing, and basic social services to homeless people as well as those who are below the poverty level, living in the depressed and impoverished areas of the Metropolitan Detroit area, including the Cass Corridor section of inner city Detroit.
To make one blanket you will need 2 pieces of Fleece measuring 2 yards each. Joanne Fabrics carries hundreds of patterns and there are always coupons available in the store and on line. Bring enough to make one or more and a pair of fabric sheers. The pattern of the fleece should work for both men and women. There are more men than women that participate in the program. The blankets are fun and easy to make while chatting with friends. Wear comfy clothes as we will be working on the floor. Blankets are available to sit on or feel free to bring a mat.
Thank you in advance for participating. Deacon Tim and his colleagues are ecstatic that we are helping the less fortunate in our city of Detroit. If you are unable to attend but would like to donate fleece, please bring it to Karma Yoga before the 31st and we will make the blanket for you.
