Dear ASK Readers,
This holiday season, we are grateful that our mission holds a special place in your heart.
Through your generosity and commitment, HAVEN was able to serve 29,203 women, children and men last year. We were able to provide resources and reassurance to over 6,000 callers to our toll-free, 24-hour crisis and support line and impacted the lives of 17,131 youth and adults through prevention education presentations.
Your partnership empowers survivors of sexual and domestic violence, like Elizabeth*, a former client who recently sent us a letter of gratitude after leaving our residential program:
Thanks so very much for all your help and guidance through my difficult time. You kept me and my boys very safe. I was so scared of my ex-boyfriend that I left all my belongings behind. Now, life is better than it has ever been.
We celebrate Elizabeth’s success, and the thousands of other survivors we can help thanks to your ongoing support.
As we near the end of 2011, I ask that you make a tax-deductible gift today. Despite increasing costs to provide services and recent funding cuts, we are committed to working with victims of domestic and sexual violence, providing services at no cost and working within communities to prevent violence before it occurs.
But we need your help to make this a reality. Together, we can truly create a community where we can all live without fear.
Again, I thank you for your enduring generosity and belief in the work that we do at HAVEN.
