Baby, You’re A Firework: 4th Of July Festivities Near You

fireworksCan you believe it is almost Independence Day already? This means red, white and blue popping up everywhere, the start of the wonderful month of July, and fireworks! Here are a few places holding fireworks or other 4th of July themed events near you. Have a safe and happy holiday!

Birmingham Fireworks

  • Where: 2666 W 14 Mile Rd, Birmingham, MI 48009 (Lincoln Hills Golf Course)
  • Date: July 3, 2011
  • Time: 10:00pm
  • The Birmingham Fireworks display will be at the Lincoln Hills Golf Course. Gates open at 7:30 p.m. and the fireworks start at 10 p.m.

    Parking is available at Seaholm High School.

Festival Of The Hills
  • Where: Earl E. Borden Park, 1400 E Hamlin Rd, Rochester Hills, MI 48307
  • Date: June 29, 2011
  • Time: 6:00pm—10:00pm
  • The Annual Festival of the Hills Fireworks display will take place at Borden Park. Events begin at 6 p.m. with family games and entertainment. Fireworks start at 10:06 p.m. This is rain or shine! Arrive early, the traffic can get a little insane!

Clawson Firecracker $1000 Mile
  • Where: on West 14 Mile Rd., Clawson, MI
  • Date: July 4, 2011
  • Time: 7:45am—9:00am
  • Runners on your mark, get set, go!  Before the parade starts runners can run in the one mile Clawson Firecracker race.  1st, 2nd, and 3rd place men and women will receive monetary prizes.  Think you have what it takes to beat the record – score a big $1000.

    The race will begin at the Clawson Shopping Center.

    You may pick up entry forms at Clawson City Hall.

Royal Oak Fireworks
  • Where: Red Run Golf Club, 2036 Rochester Rd, Royal Oak, MI 48073
  • Date: June 30, 2011
  • Time: 9:00pm
  • Come out to see the Red Run Golf Club Fireworks show tonight.  Bring a blanket and enjoy the display with the whole family.

    In case it rains, the rain date will be July 1.

Fireworks at Stoney Creek
  • Where: Stony Creek Metropark, 4300 Main Park Dr, Shelby Township, MI 48316
  • Date: July 2, 2011
  • Time: 10:10pm
  • Enjoy the fireworks spectacle over the lake on Baypoint Beach at Stony Creek Metropark on Saturday, July 2 starting at 10:10 p.m. The fireworks are co-sponsored by Huntington Bank and the Washington Township Board of Trustees. It’s best to arrive at least two hours early due to crowd conditions.

Fireworks Tonight
  • Where: 5171 Middlebelt Rd, West Bloomfield, MI 48323
  • Date: July 2, 2011
  • Tonight Benson Ford, Jr. will host fireworks at dusk.

    Admission is free.  A rain date of July 9 has been set.

Fireworks Over Upper Straights Lake
  • Where: Upper Straights Lake, west Bloomfield, MI
  • Date: July 4, 2011
  • Tonight the Shady Beach Improvement Association will host fireworks over Upper Straits Lake.  The show will begin at dusk.

    Admission is free.  A rain date of July 9 has been set.

Birmingham Fireworks Display
  • Bring a picnic basket and come out to the Lincoln Hills Golf Course tonight to see the Birmingham Fireworks Display.

    Bring your chairs and blankets to sit back and watch the show in the sky.

    Parking is available at Seaholm High School.  Gates open at 7:30 p.m., and at approximately 10 p.m. the fireworks show will start.

    No alcoholic beverages or sparklers are permitted.

    If it rains, the show will be held on Monday, July 5.
