Artist Lineup Announced For The 29th Annual 99.5 WYCD DOWNTOWN HOEDOWN!

2011-WYCD-Downtown-Hoedown-logoHometown boy and Hoedown headliner Josh Gracin officially announced the superstar-stocked lineup for the 29th annual WYCD Downtown Hoedown presented by Ram Truck Brand this morning on The All New Dr. Don Morning Show and simultaneously via video on The weekend-long event, which drew over 1 million people in 2010, is slated for May 13-15, 2011, in Hart Plaza in Detroit. Gracin will headline on Saturday, May 14, 2011.

“Our tradition of bringing three amazing days of free country music to our many fans continues this year at the 2011 WYCD Downtown Hoedown,” said Tim Roberts, WYCD program director/operations manager. “As always, we have a tremendous lineup stocked full of country music’s biggest names, like Jason Aldean, Josh Gracin and Joe Nichols, rising stars, like the JaneDear Girls, Frankie Ballard and Gloriana, and the top local bands, too, all gathered together in the heart of the Motor City.”

The WYCD Downtown Hoedown features three stages with over 50 bands, including local bands like Longneck Strangler, Desolation Angels, Billy Craig, David Shelby, Austin Scott, Molly Hunter and more.

Event presented by Ram Truck Brand; other sponsors include Famous Dave’s, Budweiser, City of Detroit and others. The 99.5 WYCD Downtown Hoedown remains the largest free country music concert in the world. Debuting in 1983, the annual event has played host to such legendary country artists as Hank Williams, Jr., Brenda Lee, Tanya Tucker, Mel Tillis and Willie Nelson, revered megastars Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire and Big & Rich, and today’s most popular breakout country and crossover bands like Rascal Flatts, Lonestar and Lady Antebellum.
