It wasn’t elegant, formal or thoughtful.
They came out of the woods, penis’ blazing and declared war on my vagina.
F#%* you Mike Pence,
And the right-wing Christian conservative anti-woman horse you rode in on.
De-funding Planned Parenthood amounts to a full-on assault on my vagina,
And yours, and yours, and yours and every other woman in this country.
They’ve declared war on the bodies of us all and especially low-income women of color.
Of all the procedures that Planned Parenthood performs only 3% are abortions.
So what about the other 97%?
What about the woman who can’t afford her annual pap smear,
Or her $100 monthly birth control pills?
Who lost her job and can no longer pay for her yearly mammograms,
Or who wants HIV and STD testing,
Or a Guardisil shot,
Or the morning after pill,
Who is sexually assaulted and needs someone to talk to,
Or who needs prenatal care,
What about the woman who needs to drive 60 miles to the nearest health care center?
What about her?
The Republican Party has declared war on my vagina and I’m suiting up for a fight.
I believe in life.
I believe in life and love and sex.
And I believe that no one gets to write their laws on my body.
You don’t have to like abortions, but you don’t get to legislate morality.
And you cannot tell someone else what to do with their body.
I believe in life.
And I am pro-choice.
The Republican Party wants to de-fund Planned Parenthood,
Because they say that tax-payer money shouldn’t go to fund abortions in this time of economic crisis.
Last year the US tax-payer funded 119 abortions,
The US tax-payer spent less than $100,000 on abortions last year.
And we spent $720 million per day in Iraq,
And $3 billion a month in Afghanistan,
And $681 billion on defense last year.
We spend billions of dollars to blow up buildings and can’t afford birth control?
We spend $32 billion a year to keep people behind bars but can’t afford access to decent health care?
To Whom It May Concern at the IRS:
“I want my money back!”
No one asked me if I liked the idea of blowing up schools,
Or building walls on the border,
Or defining marriage.
No one asked me if I thought if No Child Left Behind was a good program,
Or if people under 18 should be tried as adults.
No one asked me if I minded having my social security money robbed,
Or my planet’s resources raped,
Or my air polluted,
Or my rivers dammed.
So why start asking now?
The Republican Party has declared was on my vagina and I’m not taking it lying down.
And I will not accept defeat.
I will not accept that my life-giving parts don’t deserve the same respect,
As the pr**** of the d***** in congress.
I will not accept one more rich, white, Anglo-Saxon protestant man telling women what to do with their bodies.
Walk around for a lifetime with a uterus and then you get to have an opinion.
Until then- F#%* you.
F#%* you Mike Pence.
And F#%* you John Bohener.
And F#%* you to all the two-faced, hypocritical God-fearing, pro-lifers who want to force a woman to have a baby,
But who will refuse to help her support it.
Who will refuse to help put food on the table or books in the school,
Who will refuse to send them to college,
But are glad to send them to war.
Who fight for their birth,
But have no trouble sentencing them to death.
And you call yourself pro-life?!
You declared war on us under the guise of “budget cuts”,
And I refuse to accept it.
You opened fire on my rights and I’m lacing up my combat books, making up in war-paint and standing on the front lines.
You do not get to fight your wars on our bodies,
