As winter is slowly nearing its end, I dream of packing away the warm winter coat and wool sweaters that constrict my body (and lately my mind and soul). “It is time to shed,” I tell myself. As well as these clothes I have grown tired of, there are habits and old patterns of thinking and being that I need to shed also.
I have a picture in my mind of the old woman in the loose garment flowing gently, bravely, and gracefully through life with a smile of quiet contentment for she is truly free.
So as Spring will soon be gracing us with its presence I feel a sense of tingly excitement and decided that this Spring I will shed anything that is keeping me from wearing life like a loose garment and maybe even do that all year long.
I will shed:
All old, stale beliefs that keep me small and stuck
Any thoughts that I am lacking in something
Habits that take away from my well being
Judgment of others
Judgment of myself
Thoughts of controlling anyone else
Taking anyone or anything for granted
Working too much and playing too little
I will embrace:
Constant appreciation for all my many blessings
The beauty of me
Habits that nurture my body mind and soul
Noticing good in everyone and everything
Living in a constant state of wonder
Taking time everyday to do something I love
A clean, healthy diet
Joyful of exercise
Community and connection
Enjoying the good fortune of others
Living in the NOW
Happy almost Spring to each and everyone of you!
