The Karma Yoga Kula continues to reach out and help those in need in our immediate area and beyond, and we offer our sincerest thanks to each of you in making this possible.
DID YOU KNOW. . .that each of your class visits help support Urban Farming in Detroit?  Karma Yoga proudly supports the efforts of Urban Farming to eradicate hunger by their planting of community gardens throughout Detroit.
Our teachers and desk staff donate a percentage of their class or pay rate, as does Karma Yoga with a percentage of mat sales and special events, such asYoga Groove. Each month calculations are made and a check is sent to Urban Farming. With your help we have been able to contribute almost $2800 in 2008 alone!
Learn more about Urban Farming and our “Pennies Per Product” involvement by visiting their web site at www.urbanfarming.org/. THANK YOU for helping us help others on a continued basis in our extended community!
Students and staff at Karma Yoga helped support Karma Krew’s December project. The most recent project was to assist 3 families in need for the holiday season by purchasing house hold items, clothing, toys and personal hygiene products. Three very large boxes quickly overflowed with generous offerings and 2 more families were “adopted”. The need is greater than ever in our area, and again, this couldn’t have been done without the love, support, and caring that each and every donation you made to the box offered.
Watch for more Karma Krew projects in 2010/11 and visit their website at:www.karmakrew.com/royaloak.asp
Katherine Lucas, founder and owner of Karma Yoga, recently honored her staff for the holiday season with a financial gift to the Seva Foundation. Funds were directed to:
their Gift of Sight, Greatest Need/Heart of Compassion, Native American Community Garden(s) and Native American Diabetes Wellness Training programs. Learn more about the Seva Foundation by visiting their website: www.seva.org.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for making all of these wonderful and kind gifts possible for others!
In this coming New Year we offer each of you peace in your hearts.
