Killing two birds with one stone is an idiom defined as “resolving two difficulties or matters with a single action”. In this case, the two birds are Make A Wish of Michigan and Alyn Children’s Hospital. The stone is this email. The difficulty involves the chutzpah I must muster up every time I decide to go on a little bike ride for a great cause.
“Will Exercise for Charity Season” is in full swing and I am committed to doing my part. As usual, I will be combining my passion for children’s charities and bicycle riding with my commitment to honoring Alex Graham’s name and memory.
As captain and a founding member of Team Alex, I am proud to be riding in my 12th consecutive Wish A Mile bicycle tour to benefit Make A Wish of Michigan. This year there are nearly 500 medically eligible Michigan children waiting for wishes. Together we can help bring a little sunshine and hope into the lives of these very special and deserving Michigan children and their families.
Additionally, after a two year absence from Alyn Hospital’s Wheels of Love ride, I will be going to Israel in October to participate in an amazing and very challenging ride through the desert to Jerusalem. In a part of the world that is so divided, Alyn continues to care for children of all faiths and nationalities. They specialize in re-hab for children born with birth defects, spinal trauma from road accidents and victims of terrorism. The children are Jewish, Christian and Moslem. Israeli and Palestinian hospital staff members work together. The care is phenomenal. Your donation is an investment in heath and peace!
Your support means the world to me. A donation in any amount to one or both of these organizations is greatly appreciated. if you have already contributed through other riders or events, thank you very much.
