Being a part of a yoga studio is more than doing yoga. It is about community. How we show up is what we project onto each other and the rest of the world. A yoga community gives us the opportunity to not only see ourselves through the eyes of each other, but to show up for each other. Sometimes we have the capacity to shine and hold the space to support another when life is bringing them to their knees. At other times our life may be bringing us to our knees and that’s when others show up and hold the space for us.
This month we welcomed Baron Baptiste for a three-hour workshop. I have so much gratitude for the support that being an affiliate of the Baptiste Global community offers us. The BV community showed up to support Baron and the event with such a warm welcome and the willingness to share and grow. This is also how you continue to show up on your mat and practice with us and for that we are honored. When we plant ourselves on our mat and acknowledge where we are right now in our life, how we are feeling, what is working and what is not working, we have the ability to move forward to create what we want in our life. We may not have the power to choose all the circumstance around us or what is going on with the people in our life but what we do have is the ability to choose how we are being in our life, with our family, friends and community.  I acknowledge you for your willingness to show up for this community again and again. Together we continue to create such a powerful, welcoming and safe place to do the work for growth and transformation so we can all be lighter, freer and shine brighter on our mat, in our life and for our community.
